During our CCP business meeting in May, 2019, members showed enthusiasm for keeping the organization going and approved the following motion:

That a modified version of Scenario 2 be put forward for vote by membership – expanding to emphasize individual communicators including freelancers in various media, maintaining the awards program and annual convention (supported by staff administrator). The executive will annually review fees with consideration to rate of inflation.

Members also agreed that the annual awards program is valuable and should continue but that a committee be struck to evaluate the program and to update it to reflect the breadth of members currently involved and those we hope to attract. This work will be undertaken in 2019 with new awards criteria established for the 2020 year.

In planning the 2020 conference, executive was asked to prioritize the following:

  1. Offering a variety of of professional level continuing education workshops led by experts who can help our members prepare for the future.
  2. Hosting an awards banquet that reflects the level of honour receiving a CCCA award connotes.
